Birding in Hungary VI
Saturday 13 July 2024
On Saturday, we did not do so much birding apart from a quick session in the morning. We now also know that the Thush nightingale was just a Common Nightingale. We walked around finding a juvenile Cuckoo, which has been touring the lakes for the last week, and a family of Spotted Flycatchers. We got really close views of a flyover Marsh Harrier and got great photos of two Great spotted woodpeckers. Later we found a family of Great Crested Grebes with two chicks. We were almost back to the house when we checked some trees and we treated by views of Long-eared owls.
