Birding in Hungary XIX
4 August 2026
Today, after hearing Scops Owl the night before, I went back to the City Park in Budapest, hoping to get some views, before we had to leave back to Aberdeen at lunchtime. Sadly, although I did see a nice Wood Warbler, a flock of Bee-eaters, which came as a surprise.

I also managed to see a Nuthatch, which came very close to me and I watched eating a fly that it had caught.

Just as we were leaving the park, I noticed a Cardinal Butterfly perched on a leaf, the last butterfly we saw on the trip.
